Blackwork originally referred to bold, dark designs with thick lines, but over the past few years, the term has evolved to encompass anything made with black lines, whip shading, line shading, and dotwork. As a result, it’s become a very broad style. To make things easier, I’ve broken it down into classic blackwork, ornamental and mandalas - each with their own unique approach and feel.
