Black and Grey

From soft, subtle shading to bold, high-contrast designs, black and grey tattoos offer endless possibilities.

Black & Grey Tattoos: Fresh vs Healed

Fresh black and grey tattoos will initially appear darker than they will after healing. Areas that look red will soften and turn grey as the tattoo heals. Because shading inks lighten and shift during the healing process, I adjust the initial contrast to ensure the final result matches your vision. This may not be immediately noticeable when it’s fresh, but rest assured, the end result will be just as you wanted. While you might want a softer, lighter look from the start, going too light can cause the tattoo to appear too faded once healed. Trust the process and it’s helpful to know how bold or soft you want your tattoo to be in the end. I’ll be posting a few examples of fresh and healed tattoos to show you the difference!
